ARTICLES

* 'A', 'An' and 'The' are called Articles in English. These are also called Demonstrative Adjectives.
* 'A' and 'An' are called indefinite Articles because they don't show any particular person / thing.
* 'The' is called 'Definite Article' because it always shows a particular person/ thing.
e.g.: A boy came for you this morning (A boy means 'any boy'). The boy who is sitting next to you is my brother (A particular boy).
                   AAn లను సాధారణంగా లెక్కించదగిన సాధారణ నామవాచకాల (Singular, Countable common nouns) ముందు ఉపయోగిస్తారు.
'The' అనే Articleని singular, plural, countable, uncountable nouns ముందు కూడా వాడవచ్చు.
The Meanings of Articles:
            'A', 'An' అనే Articlesను 'Any' (ఏదైనా)/ 'One' (ఒక) అనే అర్థంలో ఉపయోగిస్తారు. 'The' అనే Article ని ''That'' అనే అర్థంలో ఉపయోగిస్తారు.
e.g.: I eat an apple daily ('one' apple).
Is there a good hotel around here? ('Any' good hotel) .
Please call the boy waiting outside ('That' boy).
The difference between the use of the articles 'A' and 'An'

'A',  'An' లకు ఒక్కటే అర్థం .
                           An                                     A
                     Vowel Sounds               Consonant Sounds
                        an apple                         a boy
                        an orange                      a girl
                        an elephant                   a pen
                        an eagle                         a table

                        an umbrella                    a kite

                                                               a dog etc.
Exceptions: (1) ఏదైనా పదం 'h'తో ప్రారంభమై ఆ 'h' 'Silent' అయితే, ఆ పదం ముందు 'An' ఉపయోగించాలి.
e.g.: an hour, an honest, an honourble, an heir etc.

2. ఏదైనా ఒక పదం ' U 'తో లేదా 'eu' తో ప్రారంభమై 'యూ' (yoo) అనే శబ్దాన్ని లేదా 'O' అనే అక్షరంతో ప్రారంభమై 'వ' (va) అనే శబ్దాన్ని ఇస్తే దాని ముందు 'A' అనే Article ఉపయోగించాలి.
a University                   a One rupee note
                         (యూ)                                     (వ)
