పుస్తకాలు బాగా చదివేవారిని Voracious reader అంటారని తెలిసేవుంటుంది. ఇంతకీ ఈ పదం మూలం ఏమిటి? దీన్ని ఇతర సందర్భాల్లో కూడా ఎలా ఉపయోగించవచ్చు?
Vasanth: The Mahabharatham is really a great book. Leave the gripping story alone, it gives us a very good insight into human psychology. (మహా భారతం నిజంగా గొప్ప గ్రంథం. మంచి పట్టున్న కథను అటుంచి, అది మానవ మనస్తత్వం మీద ఎంతో అవగాహన కల్పిస్తుంది)
Ashok: Every character stands live before us. Among the wickedest is Sakuni who incites the Kauravas to putting the Pandavas to all kinds of troubles. (ప్రతి పాత్ర కూడా మన ముందు ప్రాణం ఉన్న వారిలా కన్పిస్తుంది. కౌరవులను పాండవులకు హాని చేసేట్లు ఉసిగొల్పే శకుని అత్యంత దుష్టపాత్రల్లో ఒకటి)

Yugandhar: He incited the workers to strike and violence against the management. The management closed the factory once and for all. (అతను కార్మికులను సమ్మెకూ, దౌర్జన్యానికీ పురిగొల్పాడు. దాంతో యాజమాన్యం ఫాక్టరీని పూర్తిగా మూసేసింది)
b) Murali: Where is our friend Jagannath Sikri from? (మన స్నేహితుడు జగన్నాథ్‌ సిక్రి ఎక్కడివాడు?)
Anil: He is a Kashmiri Pandit. I. ii) Insight = వ్యక్తులను, పరిస్థితులను గురించి నిశితమైన అవగాహన/ అర్థం చేసుకోగల శక్తి- Ability to understand correctly people and situations
a) Nagaraj: What a great leader Gandhi was! The way he led India to freedom nonviolently was really great. (గాంధీ ఎంత గొప్ప నాయకుడో! అహింసతో భారత దేశాన్ని స్వాతంత్య్రం వైపు నడిపించిన ఆయన నిజంగా గొప్పవాడు!)
Tarun: Yes. His deep insight into human psychology was great (ఆయన మానవ మనస్తత్వ అవగాహన చాలా గొప్పది.
b) Yashwanth: What are you reading with so much interest? (ఏంటి, అంత ఆసక్తితో చదువుతున్నావు?)
Bhavan: This is a novel by James Hadly chase. If gives an absorbing insight into the crime world of the US. (ఇది James Hadly chase రాసిన నవల. అమెరికా నేర ప్రపంచాన్ని గురించిన మంచి అవగాహన కల్పిస్తుంది.)
II. i) Veracity = Truth/ Truthfulness (యదార్థం)
Praveen: He said that he had lost his purse and is in need of money. (తను పర్సు పోగొట్టుకున్నాననీ, డబ్బు అవసరం అనీ నాతో అన్నాడు)
Teja: I doubt the veracity of his story. This is another example of his dishonesty. (వాడు చెప్పిందాని యదార్థత నాకు/ సందేహమే. అతని నిజాయితీలేమికి ఇది మరో నిదర్శనం).
II. ii) Voracity = The nature of eating or wanting large quantities of food (తిండిపోతుతనం/ తిండికి ప్రాధాన్యం ఇచ్చే స్వభావం/ అతిగా తినే స్వభావం)
Mithun: Why are gluttons compared to pigs? (తిండిపోతులను పందులతో పోలుస్తారు ఎందుకు?)
Sravan: That's because pigs are known for their voracity/ They are voracious eaters. (పందులు తిండిపోతుతనానికి పేరు/ అవి తిండిపోతులు/ తెగతింటాయి.)
b) Venkat: Are you inviting Hari to dinner too? (నువ్వు హరిని కూడా విందుకు పిలుస్తున్నావా?)
Nadeem: Of course. Why? (ఆ, తప్పకుండా. ఏం?)
Venkat: Be careful. He is a voracious eater. (జాగ్రత్త అతడు మహా తిండిగాడు)
