ఆంగ్లంలో ఒకే రకంగా ఉండి అర్థబేదాలున్న జంట పదాలు తరచూ తికమక పెడుతుంటాయి. అలాంటి పదాలను ఉదాహరణల సాయంతో వాటిని ఏరకంగా ప్రయోగించాలో కూడా నేర్చుకుందాం!
Bhagath: The former major Sivaram you know, was indicted for kickbacks in the purchase of helicopters for the army (నీకు తెలుసు కదా, సైన్యంలో ఇంతకుముందు మేజర్‌గా ఉన్న శివరాం, హెలికాప్టర్ల కొనుగోళ్లలో ముడుపులు తీసుకున్నందుకుగానూ, కోర్టులో ఆరోపణలకు గురయ్యాడు).
Chalam: Isn't he our classmate Vinayak's dad? What a pity! He was known as a brilliant and valiant officer with many honours to his credit (ఆయన మన సహాధ్యాయి వినాయక్‌ వాళ్ల నాన్న కదా? ఎంత విచారకరం. చాలా తెలివైన సాహసవంతుడైన అధికారిగా చాలా పురస్కారాలు అందుకున్నాయనగా అందరికీ తెలుసు).
Bhagath: Yea. He was inducted into the army at a very young age and rose to the position of major in a short time (అవును. చాలా చిన్నవయసులోనే సైన్యంలో నియామకం పొంది, త్వరలోనే మేజర్‌ పదవికి ఎదిగాడు).
Chalam: Pity his career has to end like this (ఇలా ఆయన కెరియర్‌ ముగియాల్సిరావడం దురదృష్టకరమే).
Bhagath: It seems that on hearing this, his old mother has become insane, and left their home suddenly. She was picked up a few days later in some insanitary locality in the city (ఇది విన్న ఆయన వయసుమళ్లిన తల్లి మతిస్థిమితం కోల్పోయి ఇంటి నుంచి వెళ్లిపోయిందట. రెండు మూడు రోజుల తరువాత ఆమెను నగరంలోని చాలా అపరిశుభ్ర ప్రదేశంలో పట్టుకున్నారు).
Chalam: All such happenings force us to believe in fate (ఇలాంటి సంఘటనలు మనల్ని విధి/ కర్మను నమ్మేట్టు చేస్తాయి).

A) i. Indict (pronounced Indait- ఇండైట్‌)- ఒకరిమీద చట్టప్రకారం నేరారోపణ చేయడం (To make a charge officially against somebody with a crime)/ అభియోగం అధికారికంగా చేయడం
a) Jayanth: Kumar has been arrested by the police and will be produced in court tomorrow (పోలీసులు కుమార్‌ను అదుపులోకి తీసుకున్నారు. అతన్ని రేపు కోర్టులో హాజరుపరుస్తారు).
Sukhdev: I think he will be indicted of murder of his wife (తన భార్యనతడు హత్య చేశాడని అతని మీద అభియోగం మోపుతారని నేననుకుంటున్నా).

ii. Induct (pronun: ఇండక్ట్‌) -
1. Give somebody a job or an official position in a ceremonial way (ఎవరికన్నా ఏదైనా పదవి కట్టబెట్టడం, ముఖ్యంగా లాంఛనాలతో)
2. To admit somebody into an organisation (ఏదైనా సంస్థకు ఎవరినైనా సభ్యులుగా చేర్చుకోవడం)
3. ఏదైనా బోధించడం
a) Krishna: He has been promoted to the rank of Major General in the army (అతనికి సైన్యంలో మేజర్‌ జనరల్‌గా పదోన్నతి వచ్చింది).
Gowtham: I've heard of that. I was told he would be inducted into his new position next week (నే విన్నానామాట. వచ్చేవారం అతనికి కొత్త స్థానంలో సలాంఛనంగా పదవిని కట్టబెడతారు).
b) Gopi: He is a skilled magician. For his age he has given too many performances (అతను నైపుణ్యం కల ఐంద్రజాలికుడు. అంత చిన్నవయసులోనే చాలా ప్రదర్శనలిచ్చాడు).
Hitesh: Not surprising if you know that an uncle of his, a magician, inducted him into magic at a very young age (చాలా చిన్నవయసులోనే అతని మామయ్య ఒకాయన అతన్ని ఇంద్రజాల విద్యలో ప్రవేశపెట్టాడు).
B) i. Insanity (మతిస్థిమితం లేకుండడం/ మతి తప్పడం) X Sanity (మామూలు మతిస్థిమితం ఉండడం/ పిచ్చి లేకుండా ఉండడం)
Insane = మతిస్థిమితంలేని X sane = మామూలుగా ఉన్న- పిచ్చిలేని
a) Mallik: Where is Ajith now? When I saw him two weeks ago his behaviour was odd (అజిత్‌ ఎక్కడున్నాడిపుడు? నేను చివరిసారి రెండు వారాలక్రితం చూసినపుడు అతని ప్రవర్తన విచిత్రంగా ఉంది).
Samba: The doctors have confirmed he has been insane/ his is a case of insanity (అతనికి మతిస్థిమితం లేదనీ/ అది మతిస్థిమితంలేని విషయమనీ డాక్టర్లు నిర్ధారించారు).

ii. Insanitary X Sanitary (అపరిశుభ్రంగా ఉన్న X పరిశుభ్రంగా ఉన్న)
a) Nagaraj: If you want to see Surya, you have to go to the old part of the city. That's where he lives (సూర్యను కలుసుకోవాలంటే, నువ్వు పాతబస్తీకెళ్లాల్సిందే. అక్కడుంటాడతను).
Kesari: He lives there! He is rich enough. Why does he live in such an insanitary place? (అక్కడుంటాడా అతను? చాలినంత డబ్బున్నవాడే కదా? ఎందుకంత అపరిశుభ్రమైన ప్రదేశంలో ఉన్నాడు?)
b) Arun: Cholera is prevalent in the town. Be careful what you drink (నగరంలో కలరా ప్రబలివుంది. ఏదైనా తాగేముందు కాస్త జాగ్రత్తగా ఉండు).
Amar: No wonder. The people in most areas here live in insanitary conditions. The municipality is doing nothing about it (ఆశ్చర్యం ఏమీలేదందులో. ఈ నగరంలో చాలా ప్రదేశాల్లో ప్రజలు అపరిశుభ్ర పరిస్థితుల్లో నివసిస్తున్నారు. మునిసిపాలిటీకేం పట్టినట్లు లేదు).
