The respiratory rate, also known as the respiration rate, ventilation rate, ventilatory rate, ventilation frequency, respiration frequency, pulmonary ventilation rate, or breathing frequency, is the rate of ventilation, that is, the number of breaths (inhalation - exhalation cycles) taken within a set amount of time (typically 60 seconds).
Child (0-5 years) - 32 times/ min
Healthy persons - 18 times/ min
Old persons - 15 times/ min
A Respirometer is a device used to measure the rate of respiration of a living organism by measuring its rate of exchange of oxygen and/or carbon dioxide. In exercise time respiration rate will increase.
