Formative Assessment

Project work
PRELIMINARY INFORMATION
Class: 10
Subject: Mathematics
Name of the Lesson/Unit: STATISTICS
No. of the Project:
Medium: English
Allotment of work:
(i) Collecting the information
(ii) Recording the data
(iii) Analysing the data
(iv) Presentation of the project

DETAILED INFORMATION OF THE PROJECT

1. Title of the Project: Blood groups of 40 students of your section participated in blood donation camp.
2. Objectives of the project:
(i) Preparing frequency distribution table for the collected data
(ii) Drawing bar graph to the given data
(iii) Finding the which group is most donated from the result.

3. Materials used: White papers, Graph sheets, Pen, Pencil and Eraser etc.
4. Procedure:

1. Introduction: Before we going to do the project, we have a minimum knowledge about “Mode, Bar Graph”.

2. Process:
We went to the Blood donation camp held at our town by Rotary club/Lions club/Voluntary organization.
All the students of our section donated blood and we collected information about the blood group type.
Information:

Frequency Distribution table:

From the table we know that mode of the data is “O” because it occurs 15 times which is the highest frequency.

Bar Graph:

5. ANALYSIS: Most of the students of blood camp have blood group “O”. So “O” is the mode.
6. Conclusion: From the analysis we can infer that majority of the donors have blood group “O”
7. Experiences of the students:
(i) We enjoyed while preparing the project.
(ii) We think it is very useful to know the blood group of everyone by himself/herself.

6. Doubts & Questions:
1. Is it possible to find the mode of data like this?
2. Is mode is sufficient to find average of data like this?

7. Acknowledgement:
1. Convey my sincere thanks to our Headmaster to allow us to complete the work
2. Convey my sincere thanks to our Mathematics Teacher for guiding us in preparing the project work.
8. Reference Books/Resources:
1. Class – X & Class VIII Mathematics text books
2. NCERT Lab manual

9. Signature of the student(s):
