It involves a shift from Direct Speech (quoting the exact words) to an Indirect form. This not only facilitates the expression of past events or conversations but also adds nuance by incorporating changes in pronouns, verb tenses, and other elements. Reported Speech is crucial for effective communication, enabling speakers to share information accurately while maintaining appropriate context and perspective.
