Directions (Qs. 1 - 10): In the following passage there are blanks, each of which has been numbered from 1 to 10. These numbers are printed below the passage and against each number, five words are suggested and only one word fits the blank appropriately. Find out the appropriate word in all the cases.

The death of four workers on New Year’s Day in a blast at a fireworks unit in Kalathur village of Virudhunagar district, the hub of the firecrackers sector in Tamil Nadu, reiterates the need for ....(1).... vigil to enforce safety ....(2).... in an industry that deals with hazardous processes. * Candidates should use Elimination technique to eliminate the most unsuitable options according to the context of the passage. By using this technique, the number of options to choose the correct answer will reduce and the probability of choosing the correct answer will increase. Proper grammar skills and vocabulary knowledge is required to use this technique.
