6. Arun spends 22% of his monthly income on rent, 17% on household expenditure and 11% on children's education. He spends 30% of the remaining on traveling and saves Rs.2100. What is his yearly income?
Ans: Rs.72000

Explanation:
Let the monthly income be Rs.100
Money spent on rent = Rs.22
House hold expenditure = Rs.17
Children's education = Rs.1.1
Remaining money = 100 − (22 + 17 + 11)
                                 = 50
Money on travelling = 30% of 50 = Rs.15
Remaining = 50 − 15 = Rs.35
according to question, he saves Rs.2,100

...  35% = Rs.2,100

                      = Rs.6,000
Monthly salary = Rs.6,000

... Yearly salary = 12 × 6000 = Rs.72,000

7. Indu obtained 85% marks in Hindi and English, 90% marks in Maths and Science and 86 marks in Social. If the maximum marks in each subject is 100, what is her overall percentage in all the subjects together?

Explanation:
Total marks in Hindi & English = 85 × 2 = 170
Total marks in Maths & Science = 90 × 2
                                  = 180
Marks in Social = 86
Total marks in all 5 subjects
                       = 170 + 180 + 86 = 436

..Percentage of Marks in all subjects

Ans: 210 m
Explanation:
Distance = Speed × Time
Let the length of the bridge be 'x' metres

..240 + x = 45   mps × 36 sec
⇒  x = 210 metres

Ans: 105
Explanation:
14 × 1.5 = 21
21 × 2 = 42
42 × 2.5 = 105
105 × 3 = 315
315 × 3.5 = 1102.5

Ans: 768
Explanation:
Let the breadth of the rectangle be 'x' cm
Perimetre of the rectangle = 2(l + b)

 2(32 + x) = 112  x = 24
... Area of the recangle = l × b = 32 × 24
                                  = 768
