Directions (Qs.6 - 10): Study the following bar graph carefully and answer the following questions: The bar graph shows selling price (in thousands) of portable laptops by 3 companies Lenovo, Asus and HP from 2011 to 2015.

6. In which of the given years, the average selling price of all the 3 portable laptops was minimum?

A) 2011   B) 2012    C) 2013    D) 2014    E) 2015

 7. If the number of portable laptops sold by HP in 2013 was 25000 and that by Lenovo was 24000 in the same year, then find the difference between the revenue of HP and Lenovo?

A) 13.9 crores    B) 12.1 crores    C) 11.8 crores    D) 10.2 crores    E) 9.6 crores

8. Which portable Laptop company has the maximum average selling price during 2011- 2015?

A) Lenovo   B) HP   C) Asus    D) Lenovo and HP    E) Asus and HP

 9. If a distributor purchases 40 Lenovo, 60 Asus and 80 HP laptops in 2014 at a selling price given in the graph and then sells them each at Rs.50,400, then what is the profit or loss percentage of the distributor?

A) 1.70%    B) 2.87%    C) 1.89%   D) 1.34%    E) 2.24%

10. If the selling price of Asus laptops increases by 30% in 2016 when compared to 2013, then the selling price of Asus laptops in 2016 is what percentage of the selling price of HP laptops in 2013?

 A) 143.67%    B) 138.54%    C) 127.47%    D) 124.45%    E) 139.28%

6-B; In 2012, the average selling price of all 3 portable laptops was minimum as the selling price was the minimum.

 7-D; Total selling price of 25000 HP laptops in 2013 = 25000 × 42000 = 105 crores

 Total selling price of 24000 Lenovo laptops in 2013 = 24000 × 48000 = 115.2 crores

Therefore, required difference = 10.2 crores

8-C; The selling price of all the companies during 2011-2015 can be calculated as follows:

Selling price for Lenovo during 2011-15

 = 45000 + 43000 + 48000 + 47000 + 46000 = 229000

 Selling price for Asus 2011-15

 = 50000 + 47000 + 45000 + 52000 + 40000 = 234000

Selling price for HP 2011-15 =

 43000 + 44000 + 42000 + 49000 + 54000 = 232000

Since total selling price for Asus is the maximum that means average selling price would also be the maximum for Asus.

Hence Asus has the maximum average selling price during 2011-15

9-A; Purchasing price of Lenovo for the distributor = 47000 × 40 = 18.8 lakhs

 Purchasing price of Asus for the distributor = 52000 × 60 = 31.2 lakhs

Purchasing price of HP for the distributor = 49000 × 80 = 39.2 lakhs

So, total purchasing price for the distributor = 89.2 lakhs

Total selling price for 180 laptops = 50400 × 180 = 90.72 lakhs

 Hence Profit = 90.72 − 89.2 = 1.52

Therefore, profit percentage

10-E; Selling price of Asus laptops in 2016 = 45000 × 1.3 ´= 58500

Selling price of HP laptops in 2013 = 42000

 Therefore, percentage =
