Crafty men condemn studies simple men admire them, and wise men use them

Study has some disadvantages. Too much of reading books may make us lazy. It creates over confidence and spoils a person. It shuns practical experience. Practical experience helps us to apply them to real life situations. We should not blindly believe whatever we study. We should be open minded in judging impartially.

Some books are to be tated, others to be swallowed and some few to be chewed and digested.  All books should not be read in same way. Some are to be read in parts. But some are to be read completely, carefully and digested as its content is important in our practical life.

Bacon tells us how studies cure the diseases of our mind. Reading makes a person up to date. Every subject has its own value for the reader. History helps to gain wisdom; poetry makes us imaginative; mathematics makes men clever; natural science increases the depth of mind. The study of law is an effective medicine for bad memory. Thus every defect of the mind can be cured by the study of the proper subject.
