Guess something when explaining how something might have happened

A wild guess = A guess especially in an answer that is stupid or very wrong.
= ఏదైనా ప్రశ్నకు తప్పుగా లేదా తెలియనప్పుడు ఊహించి ఇచ్చే సమాధానం.
Prasad: Where does the Ganga empty into the sea?

2) Put (something) at = To guess the cost/ value/ age/ amount of damage etc.

ఆ డ్యామ్ మీద వ్యయం 200 కోట్ల రూపాయలు ఉండొచ్చని ఇంజినీర్ల అంచనా.
3) Estimate: State the price of something, the number of things/ people at a place etc., partly by calculations and partly by guessing.
a) Tirumalesh: How many pilgrims, do you think, are in the queue for the darshanam?

4) Hunch
= A feeling that you know what is going to happen, though you cannot prove it.
= మనకప్పుడప్పుడు ఏదో జరగబోతోందని కలిగే భావన, అయినప్పటికీ మనం దాన్ని నిరూపించలేం.
a) Subhas: You are trying to say something, aren't you? Out with it.

Murali: I have a hunch, it's only a hunch mind you, but it is possible that Mitra has stolen the money.
b) My hunch that we might lose the game turned out to be true.

5) Guess work = Trying to find an answer by guessing (when we don't have information about something) ఊహాగానం.
a) Kumar: Don't disturb me. I am trying to guess our customers' tastes.
(మన కస్టమర్ల అభిరుచులను ఊహించేందుకు ప్రయత్నిస్తున్నా. నన్ను disturb చేయకు.)
Kailas: Conduct a survey and find out what suits the customer rather than waste time on guess work.
