The government has announced the . The list comprises five Padma Vibhushan, 17 Padma Bhushan, and 110 Padma Shri Awards. Thirty of the awardees are women and the list also includes eight persons from the category of Foreigners / NRI / PIO / OCI and nine Posthumous awardees.

2. Virat Kohli wins ICC ODI Player of the Year award for 4th time

Indian batting star Virat Kohli bagged the ICC ODI Player of the Year award for the fourth time, following his record-breaking performance in the World Cup 2023. Kohli had previously won the award in 2012, 2017, and 2018 and also stands amongst the four nominees for the ICC Cricketer of the Year 2023 award.

3. Amit Shah launches E-Bus Services for Jammu Smart City

On the eve of the 75th Republic Day, Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah launched E-Bus Services for Jammu Smart City, through virtual mode. Akashvani Jammu Correspondent reports that the Home Minister also handed over appointment letters to 209 candidates of J&K selected through Combined Competitive Exams and released 885 compassionate appointment letters on the occasion to ensure families of martyrs and hardworking employees live a life of dignity.

Election Commission of India has celebrated 14th National Voters’ Day (NVD) on 25th January 2024. Hon’ble President of India Smt. Droupadi Murmu partiipated as Chief Guest at the national function organized in New Delhi by the Election Commission of India.

5. NATO kicks off its largest military exercise since Cold War

NATO's largest military exercise since the Cold War kicks off. The exercise comes at an important moment after Russia's military operation against Ukraine started the deadliest war on European soil in more than 70 years. Matthias Eichenlaub, a NATO spokesperson, said that NATO has launched its biggest military exercise since 1988 with 90 thousand personnel taking part in drills across the North Atlantic and Europe.
