1. India Won ICC Men’s T20 Cricket World Cup 2024
India ended their 11-year wait for a global trophy when Rohit Sharma led Team India clinched the ICC Men’s T20 cricket World Cup 2024 defeating South Africa by seven runs in a classic final at Kensington Oval. A report says, “Opting to bat first, Virat Kohli’s 76 and Axar Patel’s 47 led India to a strong 176 for 7 in 20 overs, the highest score by any team in the final of a men’s T20 World Cup.

2. The 18th Statistics Day Is Being Celebrated
The 18th Statistics Day is being celebrated. Since 2007, June 29 is celebrated as the National Statistics Day to acknowledge and appreciate the exceptional contributions made by statisticians in India, particularly honouring the birth anniversary of an eminent statistician (Late) Prof. Prasanta Chandra Mahalanobis. The theme for this year is Use of Data for Decision Making.

3. NFSU And Haryana Govt. Sign An MoU To Establish A Centre Of Excellence In Panchkula
An MoU for setting up the Centre of Excellence for matters related to identified crime cases, was signed between National Forensic Science University (NFSU) and Haryana Government at Panchkula, Haryana.  The MoU was signed in the presence of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Union Urban Development, Housing and Energy Minister Manohar Lal, Chief Minister Naib Singh and Haryana Assembly Speaker Gyan Chand Gupta.

4. JD(U) Appoints Its RS MP Sanjay Jha As The Party National Executive President
Janata Dal United  appointed Rajya Sabha MP and party leader Sanjay Jha as the party national executive president. Mr Jha was appointed at the party’s national executive meeting that featured JD(U) MPs,  ministers, executive members, general secretaries, secretaries and state presidents.

5. INS Shivalik Joins RIMPAC Exercise In Hawaii
Indian Navy’s indigenous stealth frigate INS Shivalik, deployed to the South China Sea and the Pacific Ocean, is participating in the 29th edition of the biennial Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC) exercise, the world’s largest international maritime exercise, being held in Hawaii.
