చూడటానికి దగ్గర దగ్గరగా ఉన్నా, అర్థాల్లో మాత్రం తేడాలుండే PHRASAL VERBS కొన్ని ఉన్నాయి. Pan out, Phase out ఇలాంటివే. ఈ రెంటి మధ్య తేడా, ఏయే సందర్భాల్లో వేటినెలా ఉపయోగించాలో తెలుసుకుందాం.
Lakshman: Our software company is throwing out all old computers and replacing them by new ones (మా సాఫ్ట్‌వేర్‌ సంస్థ పాత కంప్యూటర్లన్నింటినీ తీసేసి, కొత్తవాటిని తీసుకురానుంది).
Ramana: Why are they doing it? Aren't the old computers useful enough? (ఎందుకలా చేస్తున్నారు? పాత కంప్యూటర్లు పనికి రావా?)
Lakshman: The old computers have outlived their purpose and are no longer useful. That is why they are phasing them out (పాత కంప్యూటర్లన్నింటి పనీ అయిపోయింది. అవి ఇప్పుడు అంత ఉపయోగకరంగా లేవు).
Ramana: They must be spending a huge amount on the new computers. Isn't that a lot of waste of money? (వాళ్లు కొత్త కంప్యూటర్ల మీద ఎక్కువ డబ్బులు వెచ్చిస్తుండాలి. చాలా డబ్బు వృథా కదా?)
Lakshman: They don't care a damn about it. To accelerate the work speedily, they are buying new ones (వాళ్లు ఆ విషయం పట్టించుకోరు. పనిని వేగవంతం చేయడానికే వాళ్లు కొత్త కంప్యూటర్లను కొంటున్నారు).
Ramana: They must be throwing out all the computers. Is that what they are doing? (పాత కంప్యూటర్లన్నీ బయట పడేస్తున్నారు. అదేగా వాళ్లు చేస్తున్న పని?)
Lakshman: They don't care a damn about it. They are blowing over the old computers and are going to forget about them (వాళ్లు ఆ విషయం పెద్దగా పట్టించుకోరు. అసలు పాత కంప్యూటర్లకు అంతగా ప్రాముఖ్యమే ఇవ్వడం లేదు. వాటి గురించే మర్చిపోతున్నారు).
1. Phase out = gradual stopping (క్రమక్రమంగా తీసేయడం).
Harikrishna: What are you trying to do? Are you discontinuing the practice gradually? (ఏం చేస్తున్నావు నువ్వు? ఆచరణలో ఉన్నదాన్ని క్రమక్రమంగా ఆపేస్తున్నావా?)
Prakash: That is so. The old practice does not hold good any longer. So we are stopping it and going for new practices (అవును అంతే. ఈ పాత పద్ధతి అంతగా పనికి రావట్లేదు. అందుకే దానికి స్వస్తి చెప్పి, కొత్తదానికి వెళ్లబోతున్నాం).
2. Pan out = end up / conclude (ఆపేయడం/ ముగించడం).
Harivansh: Our company is gradually discontinuing the use of old methods and are trying to introduce new ones (మా సంస్థ క్రమక్రమంగా పాత పద్ధతులకు స్వస్తి చెప్పి, కొత్తవాటిని పరిచయం చేయబోతోంది).
Ramanath: Why are they doing it? Aren't the old methods quite useful? Why are they panning out new methods? Are not they satisfied with the old methods? (వాళ్లు అలా ఎందుకు చేస్తున్నారు? పాత పద్ధతులు బాగానే ఉన్నాయి కదా? కొత్తవాటిని ఎందుకు ప్రయత్నిస్తున్నారు? పాత పద్ధతులతో వాళ్లు తృప్తి చెందడం లేదా?)
Harivamsh: They want to update the practices (వాళ్లు కొత్త పద్ధతులను ఆహ్వానించాలనుకుంటున్నారు).
